Salilita win second straight ESBA title

Lithuanian team Salilita won the M55 title at an ESBA Championship for the second year in a row, as they repeated last year’s success in Antalya with a gold in Poreč’16 as well. The defending champions outlasted Garkalne from Latvia 82-66 to claim first place once again.

Vladas Luksa, who was named MVP of the age group, led the winners with 26 points, 13 rebounds and four assists. Rolandas Penikas also played a significant role in the victory with 23 points, eight rebounds and nine assists.

For Garkalne, Igors Lukis had 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Andris Calitis added 18 points and eight assists.

KFU Gorod Kazan won bronze after crushing Estonian side TOP Trust 84-49 in the third-place game.

AIKEA Portoroz finished in 5th place, Perlas was 6th, Jasne Hlavy – 7th,  Atskalunas – 8th, KK Umag – 9th, Basket Prague Selection – 10th, while Team Hamburg – 11th.
