With the 1st ESBA Championship in Turkey set to start in 10 days, official positions of — the Head Referee, the Commissioner, and members of the Technical Committee and the Jury of Appeal — were confirmed.
Buluc Yalcin, who is working as a commissioner for FIBA and Euroleague, will serve as the Head Referee of the Championship. He is also the head of the Local Organizing Committee. Arvydas Venclovas, an ESBA Board Member, was appointed as the Commissioner of the Championship. He will be responsible for the process of issuing player licences according to regulations.
The Technical Committee, responsible for solving appeals, conflict situations and making resolutions on all disciplinary issues, as stipulated in the regulations of the ESBA Championship, will consist of the Head Referee, Mr Yalcin and two independent members – basketball referees Martins Kozlovskis and Jakub Zamojski.
The Jury of Appeal, which shall decide in second instance appeals against decisions taken by the Technical Committee, will include a long-time referee Costas Rigas, Dr. Ridvan Ekmekci and Ekaterina Loginova.
