Slovenia and Mercury will cross paths in the final of the M60 category, as both teams progressed past the semifinal round on Friday. Slovenia had to work hard against Statyba Vilnius, defeating the Lithuanians 49-41 after a fourth-quarter run.
Nebojsa Macura led the winners with 17 points and five rebounds, Jose Fizer had 14 points, while Radovan Lorbek chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.
For Statyba, Vitoldas Masalskis had 22 points and seven rebounds, with no other players scoring in double figures, as the Lithuanians fell short in the closing minutes.
Meanwhile, Mercury did not have any problems against Babailar, defeating the opponents 79-41.
Grigorii Avdeev and Timur Yunusov scored 20 points each for the winners, Andrei Snytsin had 11 points and seven rebounds, while Alexander Kharchenkov did not attempt a single shot in 30 minutes, but collected 12 points and six assists.
For Babailar, Aleksandr Trubach was the only player in double digits with 13 points and eight rebounds.
