The 1st ESBA Championship in Antalya was declared open on Sunday evening, with an action-filled opening ceremony taking place at the Gloria Sports Arena, packed with participants and spectators alike.
The event began with a welcome cocktail, followed by the official opening ceremony and a friendly ESBA All-Star Game.
During the official part of the ceremony, players, teams and all nine represented countries were introduced, while ESBA Board Chairman Romualdas Brazauskas, Head of Local Organizing Committee Buluc Yalcin and the sales supervisor of the Gloria hotel complex Gorkem Donmez welcomed all participants.
The most notable players from both teams were divvied up to two teams for an ESBA All-Star Game. After a thrilling game, White Team triumphed over Blue Team 36-32.
Liudmila Spiridonova and Vitoldas Masalskis were chosen as the MVPs of the All-Star Game.
The regular action of the ESBA Championship had started tipped off earlier, with 24 teams in 10 different age categories stepping on the court
The regular action of the ESBA Championship, after starting earlier in the day, will resume on Monday.
