Day 2: revealing leaders

The second day of action finished in ESBA 2018 championship with other 17 games. All teams already started their campaign and leaders began to come out.

W50/55

BC Svaja started tournament only today and already made a big statement with 53-19 victory against Legion XXI. Lithuanians took a lead from the beginning of the match and grew the difference all game.

Grazvyde Narusiene was the best with 17 points in winners side, while Ziedune Cijuncikiene added 10 points.

Olena Savchenko was the best with 8 points in Ukrainian team.

W45

Carpathian Bears claimed its second victory in the W45 category after taking 63-26 victory against Legions XXI, who lost for the second time in a row.

Tetiana Curillo finished the game with 21 points. Oxsana Kirsanova-Staron chipped 16 points. For Legion XXI Yevheniia Trehubova and Olena Diadechko scored 6 points each.

After difficult start, today Seduvos Malunos took their first victory 34-24 against Dobele, who was not able to score a single score in the second quarter.

Inga Jokubaitiene made a wonderful double double with 16 points and 16 rebounds.

Iveta Epnere scored 5 points for losing side.

W30

Nova Arena reached the second win in a row 82-43 against Tigris and become a leader in the age category. Nova Arena was a better team in all quarters and achieved a deserved victory.

Natalia Riumantseva was the top scorer in the winning team with 29 points. Liudmyla Liubarska scored 13 points for Tigris.

First official game in this tournament was for Pula 30, but it was not successful. Home team was not able to stop Kekava 53-43 and recorded second lose in their performance.

Ivana Petruz had 16 points for the winners, while Angela Udalova chipped 16 points for home team.

M70

Veteran Ukraine as well started their campaign in championship only today and left Kazan without victories after two days. The game was a tight, but Ukrainian players were more precise at the end of the game and reached their first victory 34-30

Oleksii Viedienieiev scored 8 points for winners. Vladimir Zagliadimov was the top scorer for Kazan with 10 points.

M65

After not playing on the first day in championship, teams from the M65 category got the action rolling on Monday.  Czech Republic registered a 37-32 victory against Volnic. It was a really tight game with a lot ups and downs, but at the end Czech Republic made some three points shoot and took the win.

Kamil Brabenec with 17 points was the best in winning team, while Jindrich Kana added 10 points.

Victor Petrakov ended the game with 11 points.

In the other game of the age group, LVIV Basket took an easy win 68-39 against Vilniaus Statybos Senjorai. The game was relatively close only in the beginning of the game, but later LVIV Basket run away and never looked back.

Volodymyr Gamov with 17 points was the best player in the team, while Vygantas Valiukevicius and Eduardas Kairys scored 9 points each for Lithuanians.

M55

4 games were played in M55 age group. After two days, only two teams left without victories and only two teams without loses.

Veteran Basket took the second win 61-47 a row against BBG Perlas. Leader of the group made the statement at the last quarter by winning it 19-8.

The main figure in this victory was Andriy Podkovyrov with 21 points. Arunas Grigas was the best with 16 points in BGG Perlas.

Another game in this group ended Rovinj win 78-52 agains KFU Gordon Kazan, with first victory Croatians.

Djuro Cubrilo and Boris Grguev scored 22 points each, while Aleksandr Nagibin was the best with 13 points in Kazan.

In another group, Garkalne moved to a 2-0 record with a 55-52 victory over Russian Project behind excellent performances by Ziedonis Jansons. Jansons scored 22 points and and was a key in a victory, while Oleg Portnyiagin scored 14 points for Russians.

In the same group, Veterani Umag bounced back with a win after losing the first game. The team registered 64-55 victory against Sodoma from Czech Republic.

Drasko Kunic was the top scorer for the winners with 24 points and 10 rebounds.

M35/40

Polyakov-Politechnic claimed its second victory in the M35/40 category after taking 93-64 victory against Garkalnes novads , who lost its first game in tournament. The winners made a huge statement in the first quarter and kept control of the game all the time.

Tymur Arabadzhy scored 17 points. Rostyslav Kryvych added 15 points.

Raimonds Furmanis scored 24 points for losing side.

M45/50

Kauno LT United recorded second win 86-64 by defeating Mercury-Kazan, who lost first game. Lithuanians took a double digit lead in early second quarter and easily kept it till the end.

Giedrius Peciulionis scored 20 points, while Rimantas Mince added 19 points.

For Mercury-Kazan Sergey Shvydkyy chipped 16 points.

Patvanka club as well reached their second win in a row by defeating Donbass 76-61After first quarter the result was even, but later Patvanka ran away and never looked back.

Arvydas Venclovas was the best again in his team with 29 points. Ramunas Juska added 23 points.

Yurii Isaiev ended the game with 14 points.

Easy victory 105-56 on Monday took Dinamo against Parnu. The winner team was a better club in all quarters with outstanding Vladlen Raiskii performance, who scored 49(!) points.

In other game in the age group Poltava-Kalush 61-54 took their first victory against Basketclub and left it without single win.

Osval Korner with 18 points was the top scorer in the team.

Vytautas Radavicius and Aleksandr Chapkii scored 15 points each.
