Competition format

Women’s categories:

  • There will be two W40 and two W45 teams, with each side playing each other once, followed by a final between each age group.
  • There will be two W50 and two W55 teams, with each side playing each other once, followed by a final between each age group.

 

Men’s categories:

  • Seven teams – five M40 and two M45 teams will be split up into two groups A and B. Group A will consist of three teams from the age category 40+. Group B will consist of two teams from the age category 45+ and two from the 40+. Both groups will play in a round-robin system, while the game between the two teams 45+ will decide the winner of their respective age category. The two 45+ teams will also have the chance to fight for the medals in age category 40+, as the first two teams  from each group advance to the semifinals. A1-B2 and B1-A2 play in the Semis, followed by the final and bronze medal game. A3 play B3 and B4 for 5th-7th place, with the B3-B4 result taken into consideration beforehand.
  • Six M50 teams will be split up into two groups, played in a round-robin format. The winner of each group advances directly to the Semi-Final, while the others participate in the Quarter-Finals (A2 vs. B3 and B2 vs A3). The winners of the A2-B3 pair will face B1 in the Semi-Final, while the B2-A3 pair will lock horns with A1. Both losing sides of the QF will play for 5-6th place. Winners of the Semi-Final advance to the final, losers play for bronze.
  • Six M55 teams will be split up into two groups, played in a round-robin format. The winner of each group advances directly to the Semi-Final, while the others participate in the Quarter-Finals (A2 vs. B3 and B2 vs A3). The winners of the A2-B3 pair will face B1 in the Semi-Final, while the B2-A3 pair will lock horns with A1. Both losing sides of the QF will play for 5-6th place. Winners of the Semi-Final advance to the final, losers play for bronze.
  • There will be five teams (two M60, two M65 and one M70) that play each other once in a round-robin format, followed by an M60 final and an M65 final.
