The second day of action finished in the ESBA Championship <\/b>in Croatia, with all remaining teams starting their\u00a0Pore\u010d’16\u00a0<\/strong>campaigns. Like in the first day of the tournament, games were played both at the \u017datika Sports Center and Veli Jo\u017ee Sports Hall.<\/p>\n

M40<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

UD from Ukraine <\/strong>claimed its second victory in the M40 category after taking 106-63 <\/strong>victory against Olimpas<\/strong>, who lost for the second time in a row.<\/p>\n

Leonid Lailo <\/strong>finished the game with 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Volodymyr Gurtovyy <\/strong>and Dmytro Briantsev <\/strong>added 16 points apiece. For Olimpas<\/strong>, Alidas Zukauskas <\/strong>was the main contributor with 26 points to his name.<\/p>\n

Istra Porec <\/strong>also registered its second victory after defeating KSK Kaunas <\/strong>67-63 in a thrilling game. Davor Bezmalinovic<\/strong> scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Semil Sijamhodzic<\/strong> added 18 points and nine rebounds for the winners.<\/p>\n

On the other side, Ricardas Macelis had 23 points and six rebounds. Giedrius Zabulionis <\/strong>chipped in with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds.<\/p>\n

Legion <\/strong>from Russia celebrated its tournament-opening victory on Monday after not playing on the first day of the championship. The Russians took a 95-55 victory against Impeka <\/strong>after establishing a solid lead already after the first quarter.<\/p>\n

Andrey Yurtaev <\/strong>collected 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the winners and was the brightest star in the game.<\/p>\n

M45<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

After not playing on the first day of Pore\u010d\u201916, teams from the M45 category got the action rolling on Monday.\u00a0 Project 44 <\/strong>registered a 61-48 victory against Basketclub<\/strong>, with Georgy Martyshkin leading the way with 21 points and nine rebounds.<\/p>\n

Alexander Kuznetsov<\/strong> added 17 points for the winners, while Andrey Kadochnikov<\/strong> collected a team-high 15 points for Basketclub.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the other game of the age group, Patvanka <\/strong>wrapped up an easy victory against Carpathian Bears<\/strong>, defeating the Ukrainian side 80-29. After a relatively close first quarter, the Lithuanians ran away in the second period and never looked back.<\/p>\n

Arvydas Venclovas <\/strong>scored a game-high 23 points, Robertas Butkus <\/strong>had 21 points, while Ramunas Juska <\/strong>added 12 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.<\/p>\n

M50<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Bitsa Team <\/strong>jumped ahead of the field in the M50 age category by claiming the team\u2019s second win of the tournament on Sunday. The Russian side got the better of Veteran Basket Ukraine<\/strong>, beating the opponents 80-51<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sergey Ivanov <\/strong>had a game-high 25 points and 23 rebounds to go along five assists and five steals, while his teammate Mikhail Borisov <\/strong>added 20 points and seven boards.<\/p>\n

Parnu<\/strong>, who did not play the first day, started the tournament with a 62-48<\/strong> win against KTU Omega <\/strong>on Monday. The Estonians are now 1-0 in the standings, while KTU Omega <\/strong>dropped to 0-2.<\/p>\n

Mait Kabin <\/strong>was the main key to the victory for Parnu<\/strong>, scoring a team-high 16 points for the winners.<\/p>\n

M55<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It was a busy day in the M55 group, with seven games being played across both halls. Salilita,<\/strong> KFU Gorod Kazan<\/strong>, TOP Trust <\/strong>and Perlas <\/strong>are the four teams who are still undefeated.<\/p>\n

In Group A, Salilita <\/strong>moved to a 2-0 record with a 71-48<\/strong> victory over Team Hamburg <\/strong>behind excellent performances by Steponas Jokubauskas <\/strong>and Vladas Luksa. Jokubauskas <\/strong>scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while, Luksa <\/strong>scored 24 points and grabbed 11 boards.<\/p>\n

In the same group, Garkalne <\/strong>bounced back with a win after losing the first game. The Latvian team registered an easy 99-45<\/strong> victory against Jasne Hlavy <\/strong>from Czech Republic.<\/p>\n

Igors Lukis <\/strong>was the top scorer for the winners with 26 points and nine rebounds.<\/p>\n

In Group B, KFU Gorod Kazan <\/strong>defeated Atskalunas <\/strong>90-43 to improve to 2-0 in the standings. The Russian side is the only undefeated team in the group.<\/p>\n

All eleven players scored for the winning side, with Vladimir Karagodin <\/strong>leading the way for the rest with 13 points. Four more players reached double figures for KFU Gorod Kazan. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, AIKEA Portoro\u017e <\/strong>got their first win in Pore\u010d having defeated Basket Prague Selection <\/strong>71-57. Zlatko Santelj <\/strong>was simply unstoppable today for the Slovenes today, dropping 36 points on 13-of-23 shooting and adding eight rebounds to his tally as well.<\/p>\n

In the only game in Group C, TOP Trust <\/strong>opened with a victory, defeating KK Umag <\/strong>80-55. Having skipped the first day of action, it was the opening game of the championship for the Estonians, while the Croatian team lost the first game as well.<\/p>\n

Ermil Kuldkepp <\/strong>scored 23 points and was the top scorer for the winners. Drasko Kunic <\/strong>scored 34 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for KK Umag<\/strong>, but did not receive enough help from his teammates.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

M60<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Lietuva <\/strong>claimed their second victory in the M60 age category after taking down Ranga 77-62 <\/strong>on the second day of competition. The all-Lithuanian game ended in a win for Lietuva<\/strong>, who ran away with the lead already in the first quarter.<\/p>\n

Rasid Abeljanov <\/strong>had a team-high 19 points and added 16 rebounds. Meanwhile, Arvydas Stasaitis <\/strong>and Vitoldas Masalskis <\/strong>added 15 points apiece. Arunas Baltinas <\/strong>had a game-high 22 points for Ranga<\/strong>, but it wasn\u2019t enough.<\/p>\n

In the other game, Babailar <\/strong>defeated Basket Prague Selection 57-47<\/strong> to bounce back from a loss on the opening day. Boris Nefedov <\/strong>was the main player for the winners with 19 points, while Aleksandr Trubach <\/strong>collected 17 points.<\/p>\n

Michal Zalabak <\/strong>had 15 points and nine boards for the Czechs.<\/p>\n

M65<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Vilniaus Statybos Senjorai <\/strong>and CSKA Veterans <\/strong>began their campaign in the M65 age category victoriously, as both teams picked up wins in their opening games of the tournament on Monday.<\/p>\n

The Lithuanian side defeated Big Game <\/strong>from Ukraine 53-37<\/strong> in a game that was decided by a great second quarter by Vilniaus Statybos Senjorai<\/strong>. Eduardas Kairys <\/strong>was the top scorer game with 14 points.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, CSKA Veterans <\/strong>didn\u2019t have any problems against Nestor Team Group<\/strong>, defeating their opponents from Poland 69-13 in a one-sided game.<\/p>\n

Anatolii Kriazev <\/strong>scored 14 points for CSKA<\/strong>, Boris Shapovalov <\/strong>collected 11 points and five boards, while Victor Petrakov <\/strong>had 10 points and 10 rebounds.<\/p>\n

M70\/75<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

After not playing on the first game of the championship, Vilniaus Statybos Senjorai <\/strong>started their campaign on the second day. It was a successful beginning of the M70\/75 tournament for the Lithuanian side, as they defeated Russia <\/strong>50-43.<\/p>\n

Vladas Stasaitis <\/strong>had a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Vytautas Majauskas <\/strong>collected 13 points and 10 boards. Meanwhile, Sergey Naidenov <\/strong>finished with 21 points for Russia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

W40\/45<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The W40\/45 age category started on Monday, with Best of Havirov <\/strong>and Augma <\/strong>teams beginning their campaigns on a high note. \u00a0Augma <\/strong>claimed a 38-30 <\/strong>victory against Radviliskis <\/strong>in an all-Lithuanian battle in the earlier of the two games.<\/p>\n

Aista Siksniene <\/strong>was the leading scorer of the game with 18 points. No other player reached double figures for the winners. Meanwhile, for Radviliskis<\/strong>, Inga Jokubaitiene <\/strong>finished with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.<\/p>\n

In the other game, Czech \u00a0side Best of Havirov <\/strong>defeated Carpathian Bears <\/strong>in the earlier of the two games, taking a 54-44 <\/strong>victory after an exciting battle.<\/p>\n

Sona Simkova <\/strong>had 18 points for the winners, Bohumila Kubickova <\/strong>added 14, while Jana Hradilova <\/strong>chipped in with 10 points and six boards. For the Ukrainian side, Tetyana Yasicheva <\/strong>had a big double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds, but it simply wasn\u2019t enough.<\/p>\n

W50\/55<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the W50\/55 age category, Kamane LT \u2013 Augma <\/strong>picked up their second victory in as many as days, defeating Ladies Legion <\/strong>from Ukraine 45-26 <\/strong>on Monday afternoon. The Lithuanian team dominated from start to finish and left the Ukrainians winless two games into the tournament.<\/p>\n

Marina Sauliene <\/strong>had 15 points for the winners, Ina Revinskiene <\/strong>scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds and registered three blocked shots. Meanwhile, Oliga Macovchina<\/strong> collected 17 points for Ladies Legion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the other game of the group, Maximum International <\/strong>also moved to a 2-0 record after claiming a 31-27 win <\/strong>against Ladies Germany<\/strong>. It was the first game of the tournament for the German side.<\/p>\n

Ekaterina Loginova <\/strong>was the only player in double figures Maximum <\/strong>with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Tatjana Susnica Relic <\/strong>chipped in with eight points and five rebounds.
