M60\/65: CSKA Veterans do the clean sweep<\/b><\/p>\n
Despite being the only M65+ team in the M60\/65 group, CSKA Veterans <\/b>proved they still have some punch in them, finishing a clean sweep of the category with a 61-60<\/b> victory against Sakret LT<\/b> in the final game of the group stage.<\/p>\n
Unlike the first two games, CSKA<\/b> had to battle hard for the victory. With four minutes remaining, Sakret <\/b>still <\/b>had a 56-53 edge, but the Russians stayed composed and scraped through with a one-point win.<\/p>\n
Victor Petrakov finished the game with 24 points and 16 rebounds for CSKA Veterans<\/b>, Vladimir\u00a0<\/strong>Minaev scored 16 <\/b>points and grabbed eight boards, while Aleksei\u00a0<\/strong>Petukhov <\/b>added 12 points.<\/p>\n For Sakret<\/b>, Arunas\u00a0<\/strong>Baltinas <\/b>had a team-high 16 points, Algirdas\u00a0<\/strong>Linge <\/b>scored 14 points, while Stanislovas\u00a0<\/strong>Kaulius <\/b>chipped in with 12 points.<\/p>\n Vilniaus Statybos Senjorai <\/b>finished the group stage in second place with a 2-1 record after crushing SK Jurmalas Sports<\/b> 61-48<\/strong>. Although the first quarter ended 16-11 and it seemed that the hosts would<\/p>\n Eduardas Kairys<\/strong> led the winners in scoring with 13 points, while Jonas<\/strong>\u00a0Zizliauskas<\/b> and Zenonas\u00a0Bruze<\/strong> chipped in with 12 points each, as the latter also added 13 rebounds.<\/p>\n The Latvian team was led by Raitis\u00a0<\/strong>Rugelis<\/b>, who finished the game with 21 points, while Dmitrijs\u00a0Pagens<\/strong> added a double-double of 11 points and 12 boards.<\/p>\n Vilniaus Statybos Senjorai <\/b>will face Sakret LT <\/b>in the M60 final, with CSKA Veterans<\/b> automatically getting first place in the M65+ category.<\/p>\n
