M60/65: CSKA Veterans do the clean sweep

Despite being the only M65+ team in the M60/65 group, CSKA Veterans proved they still have some punch in them, finishing a clean sweep of the category with a 61-60 victory against Sakret LT in the final game of the group stage.

Unlike the first two games, CSKA had to battle hard for the victory. With four minutes remaining, Sakret still had a 56-53 edge, but the Russians stayed composed and scraped through with a one-point win.

Victor Petrakov finished the game with 24 points and 16 rebounds for CSKA Veterans, Vladimir Minaev scored 16 points and grabbed eight boards, while Aleksei Petukhov added 12 points.

For Sakret, Arunas Baltinas had a team-high 16 points, Algirdas Linge scored 14 points, while Stanislovas Kaulius chipped in with 12 points.

Eduardas Kairys led the winners in scoring with 13 points, while Jonas Zizliauskas and Zenonas Bruze chipped in with 12 points each, as the latter also added 13 rebounds.

The Latvian team was led by Raitis Rugelis, who finished the game with 21 points, while Dmitrijs Pagens added a double-double of 11 points and 12 boards.

Vilniaus Statybos Senjorai will face Sakret LT in the M60 final, with CSKA Veterans automatically getting first place in the M65+ category.
