In the final day of the tournament, the ladies were the first ones to divide the trophies among themselves, with Tukums (W40), MBL Estonia (W50) and Tark ei torma (W55) taking honors in their respective age groups.<\/p>\n

Tukums\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0ladies came close to an upset in the\u00a0W40<\/strong>\u00a0group on the first day of the tournament, but ended up losing against\u00a0SKK<\/strong>\u00a0Versan<\/strong>,\u00a035-43<\/a><\/strong>. Lina Grite had a terrific performance for the winning side, scoring 18 points and tearing down 8 rebounds. Renata Radisauskaite added 10. For Tukums, Sanita Netlava had a dozen.<\/p>\n

Tukums\u00a0<\/strong>bounced back really quickly the following morning by defeating Tartu 55-44<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0Sanita Netlava had another good game, scoring 15 points with 5 rebounds. Solveiga Kuze had 11, while Eva Zivarte ended up with 10. For Tartu, Triinu Toomia scored 17, while Kadri Tein finished with 14.<\/p>\n

The deciding game in the W40 category was played out between SKK Versan<\/strong> and Tartu,<\/strong> with all three teams still in the running for the top spot, depending on the final result. For Tukums to finish first, they needed a Tartu victory by\u00a06-to-13 points. Tartu were facing an uphill battle, as they required a win by 14 or more. SKK Versan was definitely in the driver’s seat, as all that was required to claim gold was a loss by no more than 5 points.<\/p>\n

The Tartu side delivered, finishing with a\u00a051-39<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0win to mix things up in the final order.\u00a0Kadri Tein led the way in scoring with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists, as Triinu Toomla had 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. For the other side, Lina Grite was carrying the load on both ends of the court. She had 20 points and 13 rebounds.<\/p>\n

Tukums, despite not even playing in the game, were the ones most pleased of this outcome, as it meant they would claim the\u00a0W40<\/strong> gold. Tartu finished second, while SKK Versan took third.<\/p>\n

Despite not coming home with gold, Toomla<\/strong> was named the W40 MVP<\/strong> for her individual efforts, averaging 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals.<\/p>\n

In the W50<\/strong> age category, only two sides took part and\u00a0the winners were decided after a single game that came right down to the wire. MBL Estonia faced off against Latvian side Tukums, and were crowned victorious after a tough 55-53 win.\u00a0Margit Konno was incredible for the Estonians, scoring 23 points. Marelle Grunthal-Drell addd 12, while Aivi Tali finished up with 10. For Tukums,\u00a0Guna Horelka had 21, as Zane Rozite chipped in with 13.<\/p>\n

Kersti Petjarv<\/strong> finished with the unexpected W50 MVP<\/strong> award, as she put up an all around performance with 6 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.<\/p>\n

Tark ei torma were crowned the W55<\/strong> champions after securing a big, 65-22, win over Tukums Amber. Ulle Jarv led the Estonians in nearly every category with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 8 steals. Katrin Aava added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals, while Iivi Kaljuvee ended up with 12 points. There were no notable scorers on the other side, with Kristine Zara, Inese Pakere and Teiksma Reigase finishing with 4 points apiece.<\/p>\n
