The Baltic Cup is a tournament organized by <strong>NGO Esto Maxibasket\u00a0<\/strong>(Estonia), <strong>BK Vecmeistari <\/strong>(Latvia), <strong>Lithuanian Veterans Basketball League<\/strong> (Lithuania) and the <strong>European Seniors Basketball Association<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The competition brings together the best veterans\u2019 basketball teams from <strong>Estonia<\/strong>,<strong> Latvia <\/strong>and<strong> Lithuania<\/strong>, who compete for the Baltic Cup in different age and gender categories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The three countries will rotate in hosting the championship, with the organizing country determining the age groups, time, location and system of play. Additional participating countries are also decided by the organizer of the cup.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>In 2017, the tournament will be held in Kaunas at the Sabonis Sports Complex\u00a0(41 Pasiles Street, LT<span class=\"atn\">&#8211;<\/span>51358) on 26-27\u00a0August.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The right to participate in Baltic Cup 2017 belongs to the national champions of the three Baltic countries in the 2016-17 season. If a champion waives its rights to participate, the rights are then awarded to the runners-up.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/esba-basket.com\/baltic-cup-2016\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/02\/ESTO.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-319 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/esba-basket.com\/baltic-cup-2016\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/02\/ESTO.jpg\" alt=\"ESTO\" width=\"70\" height=\"70\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basket.ee\/et\/seeniorid\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.basket.ee\/et\/seeniorid<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Estonian championsip<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/esba-basket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/maxibasketlv.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1745 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/esba-basket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/maxibasketlv.png\" alt=\"maxibasketlv\" width=\"70\" height=\"70\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/maxibasket.lv\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/maxibasket.lv\/<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Latvian\u00a0championsip<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/esba-basket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/lkvl.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1743 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/esba-basket.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/lkvl.png\" alt=\"lkvl\" width=\"97\" height=\"70\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lkvlyga.lt\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.lkvlyga.lt\/<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Lithuanian\u00a0championsip<\/p>\n<p>Like last year\u2019s tournament will be the <span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>wildcard*<\/strong><\/span> system, which provides a possibility for teams from other countries to participate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Baltic Cup 2017 will have the following age groups:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Men\u2019s 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70<\/li>\n<li>Women 35, 40, 45, 50, 55<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Competition format:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At least 2 teams have to apply in each age category, with a maximum of 4.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4-team format: Teams are playing Semi-Finals and the Finals:\n<ul>\n<li>Pair I of Semi-Final: Latvia vs Estonia<\/li>\n<li>Pair II of Semi-Final: Lithuania vs *wild card;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>3-team format: Teams play each other.
