Day 2: Men’s games – M70, M65 &M60

In the M70 age group, the bronze medal game between the two Lithuanian sides Vilniaus Statybos Senjorai and Zalgiris was a close battle with the team from the capital city taking out victory 44:40. Vaclovas Dumcius had 12 points and 9 rebounds and Geraldas Grekas 10 points for Vilnius. Zalgiris player Rimantas Milaknis’ 16 points and 10 rebounds wasn’t enough for the Kaunas team.

The gold was decided in the game between Neptunieciai and Tukums 35:21, with the Lithuanians being successful against the Latvians. Jonas Lukosius was outstanding with 21 points while Aivars Dzenitis was in form again with 11 for Tukums.


Zalgiris-Juta seized victory in a close game against Sameko 51:49 taking out the bronze medal in the M65 age category. Narvydas Cekaitis’ scored 14 points for the victors, while Eduardas Bareisa picked up a handy 10 rebounds. Viktor Viktorov top scored again for the Estonians with 15 points.

Vilniaus Statybos Senjorai doubled Tukums’ score 66:33 in a one-sided gold medal game. Even contributions from Edmundas Narmontas with 13 points and 7 rebounds and 12 points and 5 rebounds each from Rimvydas Aukstuolis and Jonas Zizliauskas pave the way to victory for the Lithuanians. Janis Brunevics had 9 points and 6 rebounds for the Latvians.


In the M60 age category, Simuna IVAX overpowered Czech Republic to take out the bronze medal for the Estonians with Alvar Kaur scoring 11 points. Emanuelis Paulauskas and Petr Maur had 10 points each for the Czechs.

Ilmars Ziedins with 21 points led the scoring for Ikskile in the gold medal game against Vilniaus Statybos Senjorai 48:41. Vytautas Ribinskas also collected 21 points but it wasn’t enough to bring home the gold.
