The M45 age group started off with Lithuanian teams Olimpas and Kauno LT United locking horns with the latter taking out the battle 73:59. 27 points from Darius Lukminas showed the way for Kaunas. 16 points from Vaidas Venskus couldn’t tip the scales for Olimpas.
In the second game Latvian team Venstpils were too good for Varenos SC Varbitas from Lithuania taking the win 73:65. Andris Ziemanis chalked up 17 points but Uģis Lasmanis’ 10 points and 14 rebounds was the difference between the teams. Egidijus Beinoravicius contributed 12 points for the Lithuanians.
In the M55 age group, Ikskile had all the answers against Simuna IVAX 57:32, sealing victory with a great 21:3 start in the first quarter. Coach Ziedonis Jansons had a great game with 20 points for the Latvians, with Igors Lukis assisting with 10 rebounds and 10 points. Hillar Neiland’s 13 points wasn’t enough to get the Estonians over the line.
The second game between Salilita and Overtime secured a victory for the former 66:48. 20 points from Siarhei Slaneuski for the team from Belarus wasn’t enough this time as Vladas Luksa with 20 points and 10 rebounds showed the Lithuanians the way to their win.
