{"id":25,"date":"2019-09-22T20:02:22","date_gmt":"2019-09-22T20:02:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/esba-basket.com\/balaton-2020\/?p=25"},"modified":"2019-10-04T06:25:32","modified_gmt":"2019-10-04T06:25:32","slug":"lets-go-to-the-next-championship-balaton-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/esba-basket.com\/balaton-2020\/2019\/09\/22\/lets-go-to-the-next-championship-balaton-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Let&#8217;s go to the next Championship Balaton 2020!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>European Seniors Basketball Association is proud to announce its 6th Championship <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>BALATON 2020<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>For this time organizers invite you to visit beautiful country of Central Europe &#8211; Hungary!<br \/>\nThe main host city will be <span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>Baltonfured<\/strong><\/span>, placed on the shore of the lake Balaton, 130 km from Budapest. <span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>Tihany <\/strong><\/span>and <span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>Veszprem<\/strong> <\/span>will support this event.<\/p>\n<p>The Championship will last for a total of eight days, taking place in the period of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>June 13-20, 2020<\/strong><\/span>!<\/p>\n<p>Lake Balaton, the largest lake of central Europe, located in central Hungary about 80 km southwest of Budapest. It has an area of 598 square km and extends for 77 km along the southern foothills of the Bakony Mountains of Hungary. At it widest point, Lake Balaton measures about 14 km across. Its maximum depth is 11 metres. The Zala River provides the largest inflow of water. Water outflow is through the sluice gates of Si\u00f3fok, toward the eastern end of the lake, and the entire contents of the lake are replenished about every two years.<\/p>\n<p>Traces of these former lakes can still be seen in the configuration of Lake Balaton today, and the Tihany Peninsula\u2014which projects from the northern shore, narrowing the lake to a width of 1.6 km \u2014 is the remnant of one of the dividing ridges.<\/p>\n<p>Agriculture nevertheless declined in significance as a result of the development of the tourist industry in the second half of the 20th century. A number of watering places sprang up, notable among which were Si\u00f3fok, on the southern shore, and Balatonf\u00fcred, on the northern shore. The town of Balatonf\u00fcred was also traditionally known for its medicinal springs.
