Raviollo finished the ESBA Promo Championship claiming gold without suffering a single defeat. The Russian side capped off their undefeated run with a 90-64 victory against Perlas in the M50 category final.
Having got off to a strong start, Raviollo ran away to an early 16-5 lead, but got into a slump, which allowed Perlas to get back into game and edge in front to a 38-36 advantage at the halftime break.
However, short lapse of concentration didn’t end up being costly. After winning the third quarter 24-15, the team from Saint Petersburg restored their upper hand, before turning it into a rout in the final frame.
The MVP of the age category, Aleksei Ugriumov, had a big double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds, Vladimir Pechenitsyn scored 22 points, grabbed five boards and added four assists, while Valeriy Sergeev chipped in with 18 points.
Saulius Kriksciunas scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Perlas, Romualdas Brazauskas collected 13 points, eight boards and five assists, while Virginijus Jankauskas and Arunas Grigas collected 12 points each.
