Day 2: Mens’ games – M40, M45, M50 & M55

Pakruojo Parketas were convincing victors, beating Baltic Wood Trading 57:30 in the gold medal game in the M40 age group. Eugenijus Takusevicius had 19 points for the Lithuanians while the scoring was spread evenly among the Latvians.


Lithuanian teams Olimpas and Varenos SC Varbitas fought for the bronze medal in the M45 age group with Olimpas taking out the honours 70:50. 18 points from Paulius Zakalskis and 15 from Vaidas Venskus did the job for Olimpas. Antanas Krupenas put in 19 points for Varenas.

Kauno LT United from Lithuania had all the answers in the game against their Latvian opponents Venstpils in the gold medal game winning 84:52. Giedrius Peciulionis had 15 for the Lithuanians while Balvis Leimanis picked up 13 for Ventspils.


The bronze medal in the M50 age category was between the Carpathian Bears and the Latvian team from Tukums. Tukums were too good for the Ukrainians winning 65:47. Andris Liepins scored 20 points for the winners with Lauris Jakobsons adding 11. Oleksandr Zakrevskyi was the leading scorer again for the Bears with 22 points.

In the other game, Patvanka came through at the end winning by the narrowest of margins against Wombat 55:54 to take the gold. Ramunas Juska had 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners while Ott Poldsaar picked up 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Estonians.


Overtime from Belarus took out the bronze medal in the M55 age group, defeating Simuna IVAX 45:41. Ryhor Duvakin had 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners while Veiko Kergand and Hillar Neiland had 13 points each for the Estonians.

In the gold medal game, Salilita was too powerful for Ikskile taking out the win 70:41. Rolandas Penikas did the damage with 25 points and 7 rebounds while Vladas Luksa had 19 points and 12 rebounds. Igors Lukis had another good game with 22 points and 7 rebounds but it wasn’t enough for the Latvians to secure a win.
